I have two Windows 10 PCs whose search isn’t functioning properly. One windwos them is running on and one is running When they wearch any of the mapped network drives, no results appear. In fact it doesn’t even look like the search starts because the files of whatever folder I’m in, are still present in Explorer. This happens only on network drives. The mapped drives are a mix of and window servers.

There is also a NAS mapped. Every other person in the company PCs can search the network for files. Just these 2 PCs windoss. I’ve tried rebuilding the index. I right clicked each network drive and gone to properties and made sure they are being indexed. I restarted the Windows Search Service.

I’ve run the Windows 10 Troubleshooter. It tells me nothing is wrong with search. If someone could point me in the right direction, it would be greatly appreciated. Any questions or information you need, feel free to ask and I’ll answer the best of my ability. That said I always tell my end users that searching mapped network drives is at most a best attempt.

The first thing you want to do is actually share the folder you want to include in the index. As an example, I wanted to include some files stored on my Windows 7 PC in the Windows 10 search index.
